Enabled Futures is a short-term study overseas study program with the theme of disability, ageing and social entrepreneurship. the program is designed for Australian University students to have an open mind, gain experience and improve future career development at an early age.
Enabled Futures is a social initiative led by passionate professionals with lived experience of disability as a part of a global team with members.
We believe in a world everyone has equal opportunities for education, work and enjoy life.
The Enabled Futures program started with a huge success, achieving the objectives of not only the New Colombo Plan and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australia, but those of the three consortia universities the Australian National University, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and the University of Canberra.
It established a long cohort of students...

Experiencing and discovering a new level of empathy through the enabled futures program instilled in me the important role of designers in creating great change in our world. Empathy is a designer's greatest asset.
It was a unique experience that strengthened my resolve to use design as a platform to create change in the way we perceive disabilities, and what we can do to make society inclusive.
I love being immersed in to Singapore's culture. Visiting schools, hospitals and universities gives you an understanding of what it feels like to live in Singapore and an opportunity to connect with locals.
It was a highlight to be able to meet everyone involved in making the trip what it was; you're able to observe, explore your thinking, present ideas, and share the experience in a welcoming environment.
Enabled Futures opened my eyes to how engineering and design can be used to address the physical, social and societal barriers that people with disabilities and ageing populations may face.
An experience that nothing else will rival. This program will allow you to gain insight into the complex and rewarding processes of inclusive design. Being able to share this with like-minded people made the program even more unforgettable.
